This mysterious shadow puppet show about a girl who discovers a magic ship to explore strange new worlds with, has been a collaboration between the Shaefer brothers:Vern and Nick, my own brother, Andrew and his lovely lady Katie Leaper. It will be performed at our own livingroom music venue: The Christmas Horse here in lovely SE Portland. The puppet show is guided by the beautiful and 'otherworldly', music of Waver Clamor Bellow. So many shadow puppets have been built for this thing already, but everytime we have a rehearsal I find out that we need to build many more. Here they are all pegged on the shelf unit that Vern built. We've got arachnid space ships, woodland creatures, towns folk, and nefertiti all for one story. What the hell could this puppet show be about? Well, we're still trying to figure that out ourselves.
